Project GenE Storytelling Competition 2020 is now open for application.

GenE stands for Generation Equality.

This storytelling contest on women empowerment will give young female participants a valuable opportunity to learn more about reputable women figures and to excel their speaking skills.

The Hong Kong Association of Business and Professional Women (BPW Hong Kong) is an affiliate of BPW International, a member organisation working for gender equality and the empowerment of all women. Founded in 2015, this is the second BPW affiliate to be established in Hong Kong (original affiliate: 1979-2013).

BPW Hong Kong, in placing emphasis on the feminine principle, aims to be a positive influence for human rights and global sustainability.

BPWHK mission statement

BPW International was founded in Geneva in 1930 by Dr Lena Madesin Phillips and colleagues, who had established its predecessor, the National Federation of Business & Professional Women (1919; USA). Today, BPW International has approximately 30,000 members in more than 100 countries across 5 continents. Since 1947, we have maintained consultative status with the UN via ECOSOC; currently, there are BPW representatives aligned with each UN agency. We also hold participatory status with the Council of Europe.

The primary purpose of BPW is the professional and economic empowerment of women, through UN advocacy and local action as well as networking, mentoring, peer support, and skills development. Flagship initiatives include “Equal Pay Day” and “Women on Boards.”
