The Echo Table-Palette of Power: Women Curating the Future

🎨 A Night with Dr. Daisy Yiyou Wang

On 24 April 2026, BPW Hong Kong had the honor of hosting Dr. Daisy Yiyou Wang, Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, at our arts and culture month Echo Table-Palette of Power: Women Curating the Future.

Dr. Wang took us behind the scenes of one of the world’s most anticipated cultural institutions, the Hong Kong Palace Museum. She shared how she creates and designs exhibitions for empresses and royal consorts, including the groundbreaking exhibition Empresses of China’s Forbidden City – named the “Most Influential International Exhibition from Chinese Museums” in 2019.

We learned about the IPOP model – four key dimensions of exhibition experience. Then came the fun part: Dr. Wang challenged us to put our heads together to curate an exhibition about a woman or a group of women, right there at the dinner table. The result was a shared vision to create a female-focused exhibition group that transforms how we experience museums together.

The night reached its climax as we shared our perspectives on creativity beyond art, leadership across cultures, and curating our own future. It was a relaxed, warm, and truly enjoyable evening together.

At BPW HK, we Connect, Lead and Empower – every month, every action.
